TPV Form Slam @ the Scream

Somehow, and we’ll never really know how, Bill Kennedy and the wily tricksters over at the Scream Literary Festival have convinced TPV to take part in this year’s shenanigans. Look for Snacks at the David Antin & Steve McCaffery event on Tuesday, July 6, and then again at the Choose Your Own Poetic Adventure pub crawl along Ossington on Wednesday, July 7. Snacks will sell you a poem with a special form enclosed, a form that could be your ticket to literary immortality.

All you have to do is fill it out, hand it in at any of these events and then head over to the Pilot on Thursday, July 8 for The Hand that Feeds, a night of performances culminating in a Form Slam sure to tickle the little bureaucrat in all of us.

All submissions will be judged by a panel which will select the top three for an impromptu polyvocal reading and did we mention amazing prizes, including a stack of all 10 broadsides in TPV issue 1, books from TPV authors, and oh yeah, immortality.

Your suggested $5 cover gets you in for performances by Karen Hines, Evan Munday, Darren O’Donnell, Angela Szczepaniak, RM Vaughan and Natalie Walschots. Sponsored by The Stoof Foundation. Proper business attire is encouraged. Doors at 7 p.m.

And while we’re at it, we should mention that the Scream is also bringing an amazing mainstage lineup this year, Margaret Christakos is reading Excessive Love Prostheses over dinner at the book-length, and there’s also a moustache party. That is all.

TPV is online

Given that TPV is a defiantly analog project, it’s taken us a while to get this blog together. But we got tired of sending people to the Facebook page, and wanted a place to feature all the media lovin’ TPV has received since its launch in April. So this is the place to find a poetry vending machine, come out to an event, check out the issues, and contact us. Word.
